Hey Everyone,

How is everyone! Oh man, how I miss home and all of my friends. I know I am in the right place and know 2 years will fly! It's crazy telling myself that I've already been here a month. It went by so fast. I asked my teacher the other day about how long it felt for him and he said that the 2nd month goes by even faster. I can't imagine it even faster, it's already a time warp! So this week, my district decided to do a "consecration week!" We are sacrificing speaking English this whole week and we are gonna talk in French instead. It's actually not that bad! I love the language! One thing that I learned was to say "Vous avez de chien." It's funny because if you were to do a direct translation it says, "you have of dog" but it's a French idiom that means "You have style." My teacher gets so mad when we use idioms.
On Sunday I got to watch the Joseph Smith movie in French and I understood so much. The movie was amazing, but what was even more amazing, was the spirit you get from it. That my, testimony was stregthen so much. The spirit truly touched my heart and I know without a doubt that the church was srestored through the Prophet Josepf Smith. I know without a doubt that Jesus is The Christ and that he and Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph Smith. I'm glad to be where I am at and for the spirit I can always feel. I miss all of you guys and can't wait to hear from you all. Be safe.

Avec Amour,

Elder Rogers

MTC life is half way over!

Elder Rogers will be heading out to the Mission field in France on Oct. 22, 2012. Lets all pray he has learned enough of the French Language to be able to survive the beautiful streets of France!

**Write to Elder Rogers as often as you want, while postage is still cheap!**
On the right hand corner you can find his address.

I have found a couple of sites on-line that I have used myself to send him same day delivery letters and packages. If you are interested in sending him or another Elder a little something or a quick letter check out these site!

www.DearElder.com- I love this site for letters. They must be received by noon in order to have it delivered the same day. Packages on this site are super pricey.

www.mtcdelivery.com - This site is great for packages. A lot more affordable. Orders must be received by 9:00am for same day delivery. I have not sent a letter via this site but I have talked to the manager and he told me I need to give it a try! I have used them for packages and I was very pleased.

www.called2serve.com - Was highly recommended. Free letters and packages are a tad bit pricier but they have a bigger selection then mtcdelivery.

http://www.mtcdelivery.com/Drop-Off-Locations - On this site you will find local UPS stores in the Provo and SLC areas where you can drop off a package before 10:30 am for same day delivery. Prices are not too bad the closer you are to Provo. From Lehi you can send a package up to 5lbs for $3.00 and in Bountiful for $12.00. If you are visiting you Utah, This is a great site to have in hand...just in case you feel like sending a little something to your favorite missionary!

Have fun writing to Elder Rogers. He wants everyone to know that he does not have a lot of down time to write letters. If you haven't heard from him yet, do not be sad or offended, he will try his best to write back ASAP. He loves hearing from everyone and wishes he could get back to everyone right away!

Hello Everybody,

How is everyone doing? The MTC is crazy! Once I got to the MTC everyone was saying, "Oh, just wait until Sunday. Once you make it past Sunday, time is going to fly!" It is true! I don't even remember where this week went! I do remember one experience that I had this week. So, on Wednesday I wake up to someone calling my name and several other missionaries in my district! Then I heard a security guard come into our room and tell my companion and I to get up, that we had to report to the MTC travel office in 20 minutes. I asked him why and he said that we were going to California! I was half asleep and asked, "What? We're not serving in France Anymore?" He said that we had to go to the french consulate to give our passport and file for a visa. I looked at the clock and it was 3:30 in the morning! My district got ready in less then 5 minutes and went to the travel office! No one knew that we had to leave! The MTC travel office failed to notify us about it! We were able to make it on the plane 10 minutes before take off! It was a hectic morning.
We arrived in San Francisco at 7:30am and were picked up by a nice guy who was from the Philippines. We arrived at the French Consulate and we were all stared at like we were weirdos! One guy said, "Go back to Utah, you're not welcomed here!" Another lady who seemed homeless, but had a camera, began to video tape us and would say, "Here are the Mormons! Look at them!" One of the sister missionaries said hi to her and the lady replied, "Don't even talk to me!"
It was kind of tough on me. It was our first time out in the real world as missionaries. We got done at the French Consulate and shopped a little and ate at a nice little Italian restaurant! We had like 6 hours to do things around the city, but soon enough it was time to go home. We got on the plane and arrived at Provo at about 9:00pm. It was a long day!
The night before I shared my testimony on service. These wonderful zone leaders that I admire, went the extra mile to help me get an appointment with the MTC president because I forgot to bring my temple recommend with me. It was so nice of them to take the time to help me so I wouldn't miss my first temple trip.
This place is amazing! I know that I am in the right place for the right reasons! I love our Heavenly Father! He is truly blessing me with the gift of tongues! I have a testimony and I know this church to be true! I love Jesus Christ. I know he died for us and I can't wait to share it with the people in France!

Avec Tout L'amour-

Elder Rogers
