Hello my friends!
How is everybody doing! I hope all is well. This week wasn't very eventful. Though on saturday we went caroling with the ward and that was amazing. I'm glad I was able to use my talent to share the spirit and to make people smile. That Saturday we also had a ward activity and it was fun. Then on Sunday, I got to go give the sacrament to this lady at a retirement home! My companion had lost his voice, the guy that took us had lost his voice as well....and who was left to sing...me! Normally at home I would have said no...but I decided to not be shy and to just do it. It was amazing having the spirit there and doing an act of service. It was a neat experience. Sunday night we had dinner at a tongan family's house and OH MY GOSH....I felt like I was going to explode!! They were telling us about the massacre in Connecticut and I felt the spirit telling me to teach about life after death and how those children will have eternal life and the spirit had worked so strong. I bore my testimony of it's truth and it felt real good. We should all know and lean on the plan that Heavenly Father has for us.

Starting Second Transfer
Hello my friends!
Nothing really big happened last week! I did get to go on splits with other missionaries and that was really fun. I got to meet alot of members. I actually had a lesson during that transfer and the missionary I was with had told me that I was gonna engage this investigator to be baptized. So, I did, and he agreed to being baptized. It was a neat experience. On Friday we woke up and were expecting our mission president to call us to find out where I was gonna be sent if I was going to be sent some where else. I get a call and it turns out that I am staying in Valence and that my trainer was getting transfered. So I still have the same address! If anyone needs it again it's:
2 Avenue de Chabeuil
26000 Valence
France
My new companion is named Elder Foote. I am currently waiting for him to arrive. I am excited. On Sunday, we got invited to a Tongan family's home and they cook so goooood. I have decided that I am going to learn Tongan and then go to New Zealand or Tonga after my mission. There are 2 Tongan families here and they are gonna teach me how to speak it! My french is coming along! :) I love my mission! I am so excited to hear where my brother is being sent. He gets his mission call 1 week from this wednesday. I really hope he gets sent here! Well my friends...I dont have anything else to say! I miss you all and I hope everyone is doing well and may God bless you all as well. Take care!

Last Week of Transfers Numero Uno
I started week number 6 of my first stransfer. It
feels like I was just sitting at this computer
2 days ago. I hope everybody had a good
Thanksgiving Holiday! You really are grateful for everything when you're so far
away from your family and from home. When you have a testimony and all you're
doing is trying to share it with the world, the lord continues to bless you. You
know that you are grateful for the opportunity you have to share this message. I
love my mission. Even though times are hard and sometimes you want to just take
a 3 hour nap and you cant. One thing is for sure. There is not enough time
in 2 years to get enough work to where you feel satisfied. An AP that is going
home next week told me that. In my eyes...he is an amazing missionary and
looks like he did plenty of work that would satisfy me if I were him!
I have
been thinking alot about being grateful and giving thanks for my blessing. I am
so grateful for the family that the lord has blessed me with and for the
wonderful examples they are to me. I miss them dearly. I am especially grateful
to be a missionary and live this experience and be an example to my younger
Brother. He is just waiting on his mission call which should arrive in 2 weeks
from Wednesday. Wouldnt it be so cool for me and him to serve together in the
same mission? I am praying so hard to our Heavenly Father, asking him to send
him here. I'm also grateful for my sisters. My 2 oldest sisters are pregnant and
its a blessing to see my family growing already. I'm grateful for having my
little sister, Abri and to see that she is becoming a great little dancer. I am
especially grateful for my parents and all the hard work they do for my siblings
and I.
I would encourage each and every one of you to count your many
blessings. Be grateful for the wonderful atoneing sacrifice of Jesus Christ that
we have and that we can have for the rest of our lives. Heavenly Father loves
each and every one of you, so make him happy and follow his son.
This week has
been okay. I got to visit two Tongan families this week. They are my favorite
people and I hope to either go to an island after my mission or to New Zealand!
Im gonna learn some Tongan too! :)
Well I hope everyone is good! Please take
care and I wish you a good week!

Hello my friends,
So this last week has been a good week! We had a multi-zone conference in
Lyon last Tuesday and we got to meet the Apostle, Elder Anderson! I am quite surprised with how much french he still knows!
It was pretty cool! I got to see some members of my MTC district and it was nice to catch up again! My MTC companion, Elder
Thackery has a companion that was from my home stake and I spent alot of time talking to
him about home and about people we knew! It was fun chatting it up! Last
thursday we went on exchanges and I was with Elder Hughes, he was really cool! We had a rendezvous with an investigator and it turned out being an amazing lesson and our investigator was really
learning, but then the next day, we decided to teach him tithingand he didnt like it very much and he dumped us! I was pretty sad, but we
still showed our love for him and we told him that we are
still here for him! We also visit this less active togan family and
they are the best: the dad plays rugby and he is BUFF! They are so nice and they opened up to us last rendezvous we had with them and they
told us that they are planning on getting married and that they want us to help them achieve it! It feels nice to be apart of it!
They also asked us to teach them more about the gospel! I love that family! Nothing really happend last week! Time is flying
by sooo fast! I can't believe that my first transfer is already almost over! It feels like a time warp! I love the feeling! It feels like I
was just sitting at this computer yesterday! I got to reading 2 Nephi and it was an amazing chapter! I would encourage everyone to
feast on that chapter, it is full of godness and truth!
I hope that everybody has a good week and that everyone is okay!

How is everyone doing?
I hope all is well and that everyone is
being blessed! Last week was a pretty rough week. I have never felt that
overwhelmed, but I truly am learning to count on the Lord.
Let me tell you a
little bit about my investigators. We have one investigator named Daniel. He is
really nice and is letting us teach him. Last Sunday he made some great progress
and felt the spirit testify to him that what we were teaching is true. Since we
have been seeing him regularly, we have been trying to teach him, but he lives
on his own and has no one to talk to. So the hour that we have planed to teach
him, is taken up by him talking about his life and how this world is so screwed
up. Last night it was raining and he called us to come over because he
felt discouraged and was having trouble living the gospel and all that stuff, so
us as awesome missionaries, walked about 45 minutes to get to his house...in the
rain. He wouldn't let us talk and he wouldn't even let me bare my testimony. It was
really frustrating and he kept denying everything we were trying to teach him...so as of now...he is a non progressing ami
de l'eglise.
We have another investigator named Norah. Oh Norah is just amazing.
We walked to her house yesterday night in the rain and she called us crazy and
was upset that we hiked in the rain to go visit her. She made us tea and showed
us around her house. I talked to her 17 year old son who likes soccer and video
games so I know I'll get along great with him. He is also trying to learn spanish
so I told him I would help him. But Norah loves the missionaries and she gave my
companion and I a shirt to remember her always. It was really nice of her. She is making progress. She is not ready to be baptized but she has been
reading the chapters we leave her from the Book of Mormon. We talked about it
last night and she says.."you planned to give me this chapter didnt you...you
knew I needed this" and my companion told her no, that it was just a chapter he
chose. It is awesome to see the spirit working and it is a huge testimony
builder. I wanna share with you all an experience I had teaching a new
investigator..its actually a family. so we went to teach them on saturday and
the missionaries that found them didnt do a good job at teaching the restoration
so we started fresh. We got to the point where Joseph Smith restores the
church...and let me tell you....I am so greatful FOR MY TEACHERS IN THE MTC! If
it werent for my teachers having us recite the First Vision...I wouldnt have
been able to share it with them and bring the spirit by that. It was amazing and
I thank Soeur Pace and Frere Wilcox for that. I really love my mission...even
though I have been struggling here. Send me some letters to cheer me up! I miss
you all and i am happy to be serving the Lord and seeing all the blessings that
my family and I receive and the blessings that our investigators receive. I hope
to hear from you all soon!

Elder Rogers has officially arrived to the mission field in Lyon France today. Mom had a chance to talk to him for a couple of minutes when he arrived at the mission home. He sounded very tired after a 24 hr flight but happy to finally be in France. He expressed how anxious he is for his little brother to get his mission papers mailed out. He misses everyone and sends his grattitude and love. He hopes to still get lots of mail. We will have his new address soon! Below is the E-mail our Dad recieved today with some pictures.

Bonjour Ma Famille!
I am so glad to have been given the opportunity to write you on a day that isn’t P-day! The MTC President gave us permission today to write home. So you won’t believe it, but I actually loved General Conference! This General Conference changed my life. First off, I’m serving a mission and Thomas S. Monson made church history today by announcing that young men now serve at the age of 18 and that young women can now serve at the age of 19. I immediately thought of my beloved brother and that Heavenly Father has inspired our living prophet for him so that he may begin now. Bradley needs to get out here ASAP and receive these magnificent blessings. If he goes now, that’s less time we will be apart. Please help him through the process to serve our Lord. I can personally testify of the wonderful blessings and of the love of the Lord. I was also happy to hear that the Lord is blessing people in Arizona with in a new temple in Tucson. I will now have three temples to attend when I get back, the Gilbert temple, Tucson temple, and the France temple. The Lord truly loves his children in Arizona.
I’d like to share my favorite talk from today’s General Conference. It was from the first session, the talk given by Russell M. Nelson, I love how he talked that every young man must serve. I loved how every other sentence he would say, “Call the missionaries, they can help you!” Not only are we serving our missions to baptize people, but we are here because our main goal is to “invite others to come unto Christ by receiving the restored gospel.” We are here to help everyone. That includes active members, less active members, and others who have never heard of the gospel! Like Russell M. Nelson also said, “Missionaries serve to help AND change the lives of others.” I’m glad that through the power of the priesthood and the power of the Holy Ghost, we can change many lives. Take up the challenge and serve as soon as possible! It not only changes investigators and members lives, but it changes yours being in the service of your God. I love General Conference and I hope you guys found something in one of the talks that impressed you and helped you, because someway or somehow, at least one talk is made specifically for each of us.
Anyways, can you believe I have two weeks left?! So crazy, I’m so ready to go to France! I’ve been speaking with this Elder that’s native French, so I’m forced to speak French, but we are so much alike and we are from completely different backgrounds. He likes soccer, he likes MMA, and what’s even crazier, he has two sisters, a younger brother, and then a younger sister, in that exact same order as my family! It was so awesome to hear that. Well, that’s all I have to say. I love being here and I hope you guys are doing well. I miss you so much and I love you all so so so much! Au revoir!

Conference Weekend Oct-2012
Joseph F. Smith Tohmas S. Monson
"I know without a doubt that the church was restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Thomas S. Monson is our living Prophet, he guides us and recieves revelation for our times."
-Elder Rogers
We follow the Lord Jesus Christ and teach of Him. We know that after His glorious triumph over death, the resurrected Lord appeared to His disciples on numerous occasions. He ate with them. He walked with them. Before His final Ascension, He commissioned them to “go … and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19). The Apostles heeded that instruction. They also called upon others to help them fulfill the Lord’s command.
Today, under the direction of modern apostles and prophets, that same charge has been extended to missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. These missionaries serve in more than 150 nations. As representatives of the Lord Jesus Christ, they strive to fulfill that divine command—renewed in our day by the Lord Himself—to take the fulness of the gospel abroad and bless the lives of people everywhere (see 1 Corinthians 2:2; 2 Nephi 25:26).
-Elder Rusell M. Nelson
Missionary Service
I am pleased to announce that effective immediately, all worthy and able young men who have graduated from high school or its equivalent, regardless of where they live, will have the option of being recommended for missionary service beginning at the age of 18, instead of age 19. …
As we have prayerfully pondered the age at which young men may begin their missionary service, we have also given consideration to the age at which a young woman might serve. Today I am pleased to announce that able, worthy young women who have the desire to serve may be recommended for missionary service beginning at age 19, instead of age 21.
We affirm that missionary work is a priesthood duty—and we encourage all young men who are worthy and who are physically able and mentally capable to respond to the call to serve. Many young women also serve, but they are not under the same mandate to serve as are the young men. We assure the young sisters of the Church, however, that they make a valuable contribution as missionaries, and we welcome their service.
-President Thomas S. Monson

Bonjour!
Hey Everyone! How is the whole world! I wouldn't know because I live behind bars 24/7! But it is a good place. This week was good! On Sunday I got to share my testimony during testimony meeting IN FRENCH! It's funny because I wouldn't bare my testimony at home but I do here! In a completely different language! I love the language! I got up there, I bore it with conviction and with the best French I could speak. Afterwards, everyone asked me how I got a French accent and I was like, "WHAT!?! I have an accent?" I was so excited to hear that! I am making so much progress with my French and it's amazing! I love this work and I gain a testimony each day! I hope you guys are good! Take care!

Hey Everyone,
How is everyone! Oh man, how I miss home and all of my friends. I know I am in the right place and know 2 years will fly! It's crazy telling myself that I've already been here a month. It went by so fast. I asked my teacher the other day about how long it felt for him and he said that the 2nd month goes by even faster. I can't imagine it even faster, it's already a time warp! So this week, my district decided to do a "consecration week!" We are sacrificing speaking English this whole week and we are gonna talk in French instead. It's actually not that bad! I love the language! One thing that I learned was to say "Vous avez de chien." It's funny because if you were to do a direct translation it says, "you have of dog" but it's a French idiom that means "You have style." My teacher gets so mad when we use idioms.
On Sunday I got to watch the Joseph Smith movie in French and I understood so much. The movie was amazing, but what was even more amazing, was the spirit you get from it. That my, testimony was stregthen so much. The spirit truly touched my heart and I know without a doubt that the church was srestored through the Prophet Josepf Smith. I know without a doubt that Jesus is The Christ and that he and Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph Smith. I'm glad to be where I am at and for the spirit I can always feel. I miss all of you guys and can't wait to hear from you all. Be safe.

MTC life is half way over!
Elder Rogers will be heading out to the Mission field in France on Oct. 22, 2012. Lets all pray he has learned enough of the French Language to be able to survive the beautiful streets of France!
I have found a couple of sites on-line that I have used myself to send him same day delivery letters and packages. If you are interested in sending him or another Elder a little something or a quick letter check out these site!
www.DearElder.com- I love this site for letters. They must be received by noon in order to have it delivered the same day. Packages on this site are super pricey.
www.mtcdelivery.com - This site is great for packages. A lot more affordable. Orders must be received by 9:00am for same day delivery. I have not sent a letter via this site but I have talked to the manager and he told me I need to give it a try! I have used them for packages and I was very pleased.
www.called2serve.com - Was highly recommended. Free letters and packages are a tad bit pricier but they have a bigger selection then mtcdelivery.
http://www.mtcdelivery.com/Drop-Off-Locations - On this site you will find local UPS stores in the Provo and SLC areas where you can drop off a package before 10:30 am for same day delivery. Prices are not too bad the closer you are to Provo. From Lehi you can send a package up to 5lbs for $3.00 and in Bountiful for $12.00. If you are visiting you Utah, This is a great site to have in hand...just in case you feel like sending a little something to your favorite missionary!
Have fun writing to Elder Rogers. He wants everyone to know that he does not have a lot of down time to write letters. If you haven't heard from him yet, do not be sad or offended, he will try his best to write back ASAP. He loves hearing from everyone and wishes he could get back to everyone right away!
**Write to Elder Rogers as often as you want, while postage is still cheap!**
On the right hand corner you can find his address.

Hello Everybody,
How is everyone doing? The MTC is crazy! Once I got to the MTC everyone was saying, "Oh, just wait until Sunday. Once you make it past Sunday, time is going to fly!" It is true! I don't even remember where this week went! I do remember one experience that I had this week. So, on Wednesday I wake up to someone calling my name and several other missionaries in my district! Then I heard a security guard come into our room and tell my companion and I to get up, that we had to report to the MTC travel office in 20 minutes. I asked him why and he said that we were going to California! I was half asleep and asked, "What? We're not serving in France Anymore?" He said that we had to go to the french consulate to give our passport and file for a visa. I looked at the clock and it was 3:30 in the morning! My district got ready in less then 5 minutes and went to the travel office! No one knew that we had to leave! The MTC travel office failed to notify us about it! We were able to make it on the plane 10 minutes before take off! It was a hectic morning.
We arrived in San Francisco at 7:30am and were picked up by a nice guy who was from the Philippines. We arrived at the French Consulate and we were all stared at like we were weirdos! One guy said, "Go back to Utah, you're not welcomed here!" Another lady who seemed homeless, but had a camera, began to video tape us and would say, "Here are the Mormons! Look at them!" One of the sister missionaries said hi to her and the lady replied, "Don't even talk to me!"
It was kind of tough on me. It was our first time out in the real world as missionaries. We got done at the French Consulate and shopped a little and ate at a nice little Italian restaurant! We had like 6 hours to do things around the city, but soon enough it was time to go home. We got on the plane and arrived at Provo at about 9:00pm. It was a long day!
The night before I shared my testimony on service. These wonderful zone leaders that I admire, went the extra mile to help me get an appointment with the MTC president because I forgot to bring my temple recommend with me. It was so nice of them to take the time to help me so I wouldn't miss my first temple trip.
This place is amazing! I know that I am in the right place for the right reasons! I love our Heavenly Father! He is truly blessing me with the gift of tongues! I have a testimony and I know this church to be true! I love Jesus Christ. I know he died for us and I can't wait to share it with the people in France!

Finally!
We finally heard from Elder Rogers! 7 days has seemed like an eternity without a word from him. We miss him so much already, to get our first letter and to hear that he is loving it is like Christmas in August!
Bon jour,
So the MTC is crazy! There is never a time where we get a break! I JUST WANT TO TAKE A SIESTA but there is no time for that! My companion is nice, a white boy from Utah that lived on some military base. He is nice and we're getting along great! He is SUPER quiet and a little awkward, but that'll change after being my companion! hahaha!
Anyways, I love how quick I am learning the language! French is so amazing, and I'm learning it so quickly! It's only been 5 days and I am learning so much and so fast! I love it! We actually get to teach this investigator in ALL FRENCH! It's tough but I do love it! She is really nice! Her name is Yolandi and she is from Quebec! She's like 21!
So the MTC is nice, but for those future missionaries, I am warning them, DONT DRINK THE ORANGE JUICE! It tastes good...but you´ll have the runs all day! hahaha! but its good, I get a little home sick at times, but it's a small bit of it! I got to go to the temple today and it was so amazing. The Provo temple was amazing.
An elder in my district knows Nacho Libre just as much as I do and we spend a ton of time together cracking up and quoating it together! I love it! haha I laughed soooo hard one day talking about it! I think everybody knows that I watched a ton of movies, so they always ask me if I have watched this movie or that movie. It's awesome! I'm glad to serve a mission and I don't regret it one bit!

Bon jour,
So the MTC is crazy! There is never a time where we get a break! I JUST WANT TO TAKE A SIESTA but there is no time for that! He is SUPER quiet and a little awkward, but that'll change after being my companion! hahaha!

MTC- Au Revoir for now
Elder Rogers entered the MTC (Missionary Trainning Center) in Provo, Utah today. It was a bitter, sweet experience for the family. We love him so much and we are so excited for the amazing experiences that are before him. We are sad to not have him with us for the next two years but we know Heavenly Father needs him else-where. He is in the Lords hands and we have faith that he will be blessed. We know that through him many people in France will have the opportunity to hear about the happiness the gospel of Jesus Christ can bring into their life's.
This is his MTC mailing address:

Blog Tittle
When I initially decided to keep a blog for Elder Rogers I did not think that coming up with a blog address would be so complicated and that our family would be so opinionated. After 2 1/2 hours of inside jokes, memories and lots of laughs we finally all decided on an address! callofdutyinfrance.blogspot.com We thought we would share some of our list. If you know Elder Rogers, you will understand how and why we came up with some of the names. At times we would run out of creative ideas and very random things would be thrown out and the laughs kept coming. Enjoy our list!

"Call of Duty In France"
"Mission Possible"
"Mission Impossible-Fench Kiss"
