Bonjour Ma Famille!
I am so glad to have been given the opportunity to write you on a day that isn’t P-day! The MTC President gave us permission today to write home. So you won’t believe it, but I actually loved General Conference! This General Conference changed my life. First off, I’m serving a mission and Thomas S. Monson made church history today by announcing that young men now serve at the age of 18 and that young women can now serve at the age of 19. I immediately thought of my beloved brother and that Heavenly Father has inspired our living prophet for him so that he may begin now. Bradley needs to get out here ASAP and receive these magnificent blessings. If he goes now, that’s less time we will be apart. Please help him through the process to serve our Lord. I can personally testify of the wonderful blessings and of the love of the Lord. I was also happy to hear that the Lord is blessing people in Arizona with in a new temple in Tucson. I will now have three temples to attend when I get back, the Gilbert temple, Tucson temple, and the France temple. The Lord truly loves his children in Arizona.
I’d like to share my favorite talk from today’s General Conference. It was from the first session, the talk given by Russell M. Nelson, I love how he talked that every young man must serve. I loved how every other sentence he would say, “Call the missionaries, they can help you!” Not only are we serving our missions to baptize people, but we are here because our main goal is to “invite others to come unto Christ by receiving the restored gospel.” We are here to help everyone. That includes active members, less active members, and others who have never heard of the gospel! Like Russell M. Nelson also said, “Missionaries serve to help AND change the lives of others.” I’m glad that through the power of the priesthood and the power of the Holy Ghost, we can change many lives. Take up the challenge and serve as soon as possible! It not only changes investigators and members lives, but it changes yours being in the service of your God. I love General Conference and I hope you guys found something in one of the talks that impressed you and helped you, because someway or somehow, at least one talk is made specifically for each of us.
Anyways, can you believe I have two weeks left?! So crazy, I’m so ready to go to France! I’ve been speaking with this Elder that’s native French, so I’m forced to speak French, but we are so much alike and we are from completely different backgrounds. He likes soccer, he likes MMA, and what’s even crazier, he has two sisters, a younger brother, and then a younger sister, in that exact same order as my family! It was so awesome to hear that. Well, that’s all I have to say. I love being here and I hope you guys are doing well. I miss you so much and I love you all so so so much! Au revoir!
Elder Rogers
